Karleigh Sue Inspirational image

Back again with another Karleigh Sue image.
This time I chose Sunday Afternoon.
I decided as I was away at the beginning of the month on a parchment weekend I would do this image in parchment.
I coloured her with Polychromos and used a parchment grid to make the ovals and lace patterns.
and a small flower punch on yellow coloured parchment for the flowers- adding a seed bead to the flower centers.

Outside The Box!

Woooh!

Talk about out of my comfort zone!
Here is a sneaky peak at my work so far on an altered book..
Trying so hard not to over think it... (as recommended by 2 friends! lol)

The book with first 2 layers on it.
A strip of burlap (£1 shop purchase!)
burgundy card embosses with a swirly folder. torn edges and pearlescent paint gently swept across it with a flat brush  (saw it done on You tube this morning.. but mine didnt go quite as her did!)

Lid off a sweet tube, filled with shredded was crayon, clear ep. wax, pearlex..
Gone a bit muddy and dried/set to a matt finish.. So might fill it with Glossy accents..

A few more layers added..
A matt gold card scrap embossed with a sunrays.
Scruffed edge with scissors and sanded top a little.
brown square with torn edges, embossed on a grid like folder, then same pearlesecent water colour gently brushed over the top to highlight.
larger piece of black/gold card painted with alcohol inks (years ago! - found in my stash)
A burgundy lace just above centre

This is how it is at the moment.
Letting it dry.

Will share more as and when I get to it..

Kind Regards
Theresa

Outside the box..

Good morning..
Below is my project using another of Karleigh Sue mermaids.
This image is being used in a Donna Marie's Clourists Unite page on FB

I am trying my hardest to think outside the box...
I struggle with getting over the edge on cards and adding embelishments..

Regards
Theresa

Parchment weekend in Bournemouth

Below is the finished picture created in Bournemouth earlier this month..
The designer and teacher for the weekend was Alison Yeates of Kingfisher Crafts.

An added bonus to this weekend was the fact that our team finally won the quiz held on the Saturday night... ;-)

First New Release Image....

Karleigh Sue New Release

Top secret digi release can now be revealed - below are my 2 versions of 1 of the new mermaid images at Karleigh Sue.

I used a scallop shell template to make the front of the card.
Brushed Pearlex over it (doesnt show well in the photo) to give it a shell like finish - then sprayed with hairspray to seal it.
Layered the inside of the card with some paper from JeJe from my stash.
The digi was coloured with the following promarkers
Mermaid Skin - Apricot, Oatmeal and Blush
Mermaid Hair - Walnut, Burnt orange, orange and amber
Mermaid Tail - tea green, pastel green and mint green
Merman skin - coral, sunkissed pink, blush
Merman Hair - Walnut, cocoa, sandstone, satin
Merman Tail - olive green, marsh green and moss

I used some glossy accents to make bubbles.
Attached a pearl to the inside of the card
and 2 shells and a paper starfish to the bottom

This colouring was inspired by a blue card I'd seen coloured

Mermaid skin - tea green, cool aqua, pastel blue
Mermaid Hair - true blue, azure, sky blue
Mermaid body of tail - French navy, Agean, azure blue
Tail - sky blue, Artic Blue, powder blue
Merman skin  - pastel blue, powder blue, blender
Merman Hair - turquoise, marine, petrol blue
Merman body of tail - midnight blue, china blue, cobalt blue
Tail - sky blue, artic blue, powder blue

I mat and layered some water effect papers that I found in my stash.
Attached a length of white lace down one edge
And made a turquoise flower from some  Tulle.
Curled some thin slithers of same coloured card and attached behind the flower
